James had his first test some months ago, but failed with 1 serious fault.He then took a short break from driving, then,more recently he began lessons here at KWDS.

James booked a block of lessons, and then had a few more, to rebuild confidence and to gain more skills, because he works in Honiton, so will have to drive there on a National Speed limit winding, narrow road over Blackdown hills.

Great result James. Those extra lessons paid off, so now you can get to work, without relying on a lift anymore!

Congratulations to Imogen Holley from Stoke St Gregory, near Taunton is currently between full time employment.

Imogen began her practical driving lessons during May this year, progressing quickly. Unable to book a test in Taunton, she chose Yeovil. Little did she know what challenges lay ahead. Not just an unfamiliar test-centre but she had to drive during the worst storm for many years.

Her examiner remarked on her ability to safely drive along the flooded and gale-swept lanes.

Despite these challenges, Imogen today successfully passed her practical driving test.

Max lives out in the ‘sticks’ on the border of Devon/Somerset, and doesn’t have much access to public transport, so getting a full licence was a major factor.

Max wanted a test in Taunton, and couldn’t find one, so he booked one in Yeovil some months ago.

He has been having a mixture of driving lessons with me, together with some private practice with parents, in Yeovil and Taunton.

She contacted the driving school, because she wanted to brush up with road markings, and improve reversing accuracy, so had a few lessons, which have now paid off.

Chessie, as she prefers to be called, was originally learning with other Instructors from various driving schools in different areas.

She then contacted KWDS, and then began having lessons with Kelvin Litchfield, who taught Chessie to a really good standard.

Then I gave Chessie a few lessons leading up to test day.

On the day, she began to question if she could ‘pull it off’, but then she re-focussed, and successfully gained that all important full licence.

Congratulations to Alexia Galatalis from Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton who passed her practical driving test January 30th.

Alexia is a student at Huish college, studying geography, biology and physiology.

She is planning to soon start university, with an ambition of becoming a news reader.

At the start of Alexia’s course of driving lessons, she found it challenging. Over the following months, Alexia soon found the lessons much easier, working very hard towards her ultimate goal.

Today she has been rewarded with a first-time pass, having just two minor driving faults and a compliment from her examiner.

Dristi lives in Taunton, and is training to work in Medicine.

She did some lessons a few years ago, with another driving school but stopped after a while, because of other commitments.

Then she took up learning again, and although she was a bit ‘rusty’ to begin with, she soon got back into it.

Now that Dristi has gained a licence, it should open up more possibilities within the medical profession.

Congratulations to Harry Mockridge of Taunton who passed his practical driving test at first attempt, with Kelvin White Driving School, in Taunton, 14th November 2022.

Harry practiced driving at weekends, in-between having lessons, when he came back from Cheltenham Uni. He practiced mainly roundabouts and reversing.

All that practice has now paid off, so no more having to rely on trains, now that he’s gained his licence.

Pahul works as a manager at mobile phone repair shops in Bath and Taunton, and has to divide his time between both shops.

He has had to rely on either lifts from friends, or public transport, but now that he’s achieved a full licence, he can drive to each of those shops, on his own in his Audi.

Congratulations to David Fallaize of Taunton for passing his practical driving test August 16th with only 2 minor faults.

The examiner commented that it was ‘’a really nice drive’’ David had a test a few years ago, in a different area with another school, but didn’t quite make it at first attempt. He then had a break from learning, which gave him time to re-evaluate.

David then started learning with us in April this year, and said that he felt a bit rusty, but with the correct amount of lessons and plenty of practice, he has now gained his full licence.

Great work David, and it’s been good helping you to achieve your goal.

Congratulations to Hattie Clarkson of Taunton for passing her practical driving test in Taunton July 7th.

Hattie had a test a few years ago, with another driving school in a different county, but said she wasn’t prepared for it for a variety of reasons, so as a result it didn’t go too well, and it affected her self-esteem.

She then gave up learning for a couple of years, but recently decided to have another go at having lessons.

Hattie wasn’t confident to begin with, after not having driven for quite a while, but she soon got back into the swing of it, and now she has gained her licence first time with us, and she says in her own words.

Congratulations to Leo Cavill of Taunton for passing his practical driving test June 14th at his first attempt, in Taunton, with only 2 minor faults!

Leo had been looking forward to taking his test for some while, and was at a good standard of driving, as it got closer, to the big day, when it suddenly got cancelled at the last minute because DVSA didn’t have an examiner available to cover that test slot, because of staff shortage.

His test was then rescheduled to September, but Leo decided to look for a cancellation, and luckily he found one so soon, and he took the test in his own car.

Good drive Leo! Enjoy driving your Honda CR-Z!

Eloise lives in Salisbury, but attends Taunton School during term time.

She needs a licence, so that she can drive between both locations herself, therefore giving her parents more free time to themselves.

During the test, Eloise had to contend with heavy rain and some glare at times, but she stayed calm and focussed, and produced a Confident drive throughout.

Tilly lives and works in town, and had done quite a lot of driving with family before having lessons with our driving school, so we focussed on improving various Driving and reversing subjects, to get her skills to an even better level.

Kurt works in the building trade, so he has to rely on lifts to get to work, which can sometimes be in another county.

His test was originally booked for next week, but it was re-scheduled, which caused Kurt to become worried, but he managed to stay calm, and have a successful test, thereby passing at 1st attempt.
