Why BRIDGWATER Learner Drivers

Chose Kelvin White Driving School.

Michelle Chick, Kilve. Near Bridgwater.

“I chose Kelvin White Driving School because of their high first time pass rate. I had also read their positive customer reviews.

I found learning to drive to be easier than I had expected due to my anxiety around unfamiliar people.

My driving instructor Steve Gwinnell had teaching methods that were easy to understand. If I struggled with parts Steve would either explain in more detail or demonstrate.

I will be recommending to others because of the encouragement and support I received throughout. Customer service was absolutely brilliant, both with support and encouragement.”

Michelle Chick, Kilve.

Kate Taylor, Josh’s Mum.

“I chose Kelvin White Driving School for my son Josh’s driving lessons because of their good pass rate and because they offered automatic driving lessons. I also wanted a Driving Instructor who’d be understanding and have patience.

Josh found learning to drive easier and less stressful than he had expected. Josh really got on well with his Driving Instructor Phil Murtagh’s teaching methods. Josh has learning difficulties but Phil went out of his way to understand Josh’s issues. Phil was a calm and patient instructor.

Phil was fantastic and made Josh’s driving experience a positive one. We didn’t expect Josh to pass second time so we are so pleased!! Extreme thanks to Phil for his patient calm manner.”

You Ask – We Answer

Will i Drive On My 1st lesson?

Yes, you will definitely be driving on your first lesson.

If you are new to driving, your Instructor will drive you to a suitable location to get you started. It’s vital that your first few lessons are conducted in an area that will ensure your success and build your confidence.

Your Instructor will take a few minutes to record your licence details, test your eyesight and explain how to adjust your seat, head restraint and make sure you are comfortable.

He/she will then explain the controls that you will need to operate during your first lesson.

You will then be given a briefing on the move off and stop procedure with a short discussion to ensure you understand what is required. Your Instructor will then give you full talk through and guide you through your practical driving session. You will be able to learn at your own pace and your lesson will progress as and when you feel ready.

All your lessons will be structured using our unique ALS (Accelerated Learning System) to ensure you receive the maximum value for your money. Your early lessons will be in quiet areas, mainly on housing estates so you can build your confidence.

Full details on our unique Accelerated Learning System can be accessed by watching the main video on this page titled ‘Save Your Time and Money’.

Do You Offer A Block Booking Discount?

Yes, we do.

We suggest that if possible, you purchase a block of ten hours to benefit from the £20 discount. If for any reason you are not delighted with your instructor and your tuition, I will make a refund and any unused lessons purchased will also be refunded.

Full lesson pricing details can be found by clicking the ‘Lesson Prices’ button just above the four contact methods.

Do you offer 1 hour lessons?

You may be thinking of taking 1-hour lessons and Just to be clear and give you a balanced view, there is nothing wrong with 1-hour lessons, we just feel that they offer less value for your money as they prolong the learning period substantially.

Another of the drawbacks is having to take time from your lesson to drive to a suitable location that is relevant to cover the topic and then having to drive back again.

So, should you prefer to take less than two-hour lessons, we would not be the right driving school for you as we don’t offer them.

You have over 600 positive customer reviews, but about negative reviews?

We aim to be as transparent as possible and despite our best endeavours, when you have been providing driving lessons for over twenty years and taught thousands of students, there will be mistakes made and misunderstandings on both sides.

We raise our hands and if we have failed to deliver the best possible experience, then we are truly sorry.

We have trolled both Facebook and Google and gathered any negative reviews that we could find and have listed them below.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?

Yes, we do.

In fact, we offer an industry leading 9 Star Guarantee and I will offer you a refund on EVERY lesson you take unless you are delighted with both the tuition and service you receive.

You can access full details of the 9 Start Guarantee by clicking the ‘Learn More’ Button at the top of this page.

How much are your lessons?

Please click the Yellow ‘Lesson Prices’ Button just above the four ways you can make contact for full lesson pricing details.

Do you offer intensive or crash courses?

Please click the ‘Are we the right school for you’ Button for a full explanation of the services we offer.

Do you offer lessons in an Automatic vehicle?

Yes, we do.

Please click the Yellow ‘Lesson Prices’ Button just above the four ways you can make contact for full lesson pricing details.

How many lessons a week do you recommend?

We find that taking a 2-hour lesson every week, proves to be the most successful strategy for most students. Two-hour lessons would be far more beneficial to you. You will learn far more for your money and you will also be test ready in half the time. You will have a decent amount of condensed learning in one go with time to digest and be focused for your next lesson.

Sometimes students think that they would be unable to concentrate for a period of two hours, but this is why we would ‘chunk’ your lessons and break up the two hour slot to cover several topics, just as they do in the school curriculum to keep the learning fresh and focused.

Taking a regular weekly lesson has proven success as it provides continuity, the retention of knowledge and it will reduce your learning period. We will aim to offer you a regular lesson slot that you can book in advance and keep from the time you commence your lessons until you pass your test.

You will also be able to book more than one lesson slot per week should you wish to reduce your learning period and be test ready sooner. (Subject to instructor availability)

Yes, we do offer lessons on Saturdays but not on Sundays unfortunately.

Saturday lessons are always in high demand and will be subject to availability.

How many lessons do you think I will need?

It’s almost impossible to know until you begin your tuition.

The DVSA suggest that the average is around 46 hours, but we find that most of our students are test ready much sooner. It really does depend on the individual, but our recommendation is to book ten hours of lessons and once completed, you will have a much better idea of the number of lesson you will need.

We will always pick you up at your preferred location. That could be from College, your home, work or anywhere else you choose. We will also drop you off at your preferred location.

You can research further by watching the video on this website – Are we the right driving school for you?

Do you have female instructors?

Unfortunately, we don’t have any female instructors that cover the Bridgwater area at the moment.

What is your 1st time pass rate?

We are very proud of our 1st time pass rate and our instructors deserve a lot of credit for their hard work. Its impossible to give the exact % as we have tests almost every day and it will continually change.

Checking out the main video on this page ‘How To Choose Your Instructor’ will help you make the correct decision and avoid the costly mistakes that force over 30% of all local learners to change their instructor before reaching test day.

How long is the waiting list?

It really depends on when you would be available to take your lessons.

If you would like to contact us by using one of the four methods towards the top of this website with the days and times you are available, Andy or Sandra, who are our customer services staff will check and get back to you ASAP.

How come you are more expensive than others?

That is a very good question.

Most people wrongly assume that all driving instructors are the same!

I have produced several videos on this website to help you make the correct decision, avoid the costly mistakes and to avoid being one of the 30% of local learners that feel the need to change their driving instructor before test day.

Please check out the main video on this page ‘How To Choose Your Driving Instructor’. You will be glad that you did!

Do you teach people with learning difficulties?

Yes, we do but it will depend on the circumstances.

Our instructors do not pretend to be experts, or do they possess special training for certain disabilities. The best advice I can give is to contact our customer services and discuss your requirements, so they can attempt to match a suitable instructor.

Morer Information

Driving School Bridgwater | Top Rated Customer Reviews

  • Male and Female instructors offering the best rated, trusted and recommended tuition and driving lessons in Bridgwater Somerset

  • Manual and Automatic teachers providing affordable packages and bundles for beginners and refresher sessions

  • Many students search for a driving instructor on a near me basis but we pick up and drop off in the local area so we don’t have to be the nearest

  • Which tutor do you choose, when some instructors are cheap and lack reviews?

  • Find the top tutor and good companies in the location that offer low student deals on motor car classes and provide advice for nervous learners

  • It’s often a big mistake to choose schools Bridgwater who are the cheapest and buy on price alone and may cost more to learn in the long run

  • Private instruction is available for women with our registered lady instructor and block booking is a firm favourite.

  • We are nearby for new drivers and rated no 1 by our customers which is great news

Kelvin White Driving School have been offering driving lessons in Bridgwater since 2001 and have built a reputation of being the no 1 rated and premier driving school in the local Bridgwater area by new drivers.

There are currently six fully qualified driving instructors operating in the local Bridgwater area who have all been CRB checked and registered for your safety. There is also a choice of both male and female driving instructors depending on your preference that offer advice for nervous learners looking for motor car classes. The lady instructors are firm favourites with a good number of women students.

You will also be able to choose between manual and automatic vehicles with affordable packages, bundles, block bookings and deals for beginners, familiarisation sessions are also available for foreign residents and refresher lesson for fully qualified licence holders, should you wish to brush up on your driving skills.

The driving tuition offered is client centred, that means you are not told what you are going to do but you will be able to discuss a plan of action that you are comfortable with. A good example of this would be, where the teacher suggests that a rural drive would be appropriate at your stage of learning within the syllabus, but you may feel that you are not quite ready, and you may prefer to revisit a previous subject for your reassurance before moving on.

Many students and parents wrongly assume that all driving schools and instructors are the same and this couldn’t be further from the truth! The practice of simply choosing lessons on price alone and looking for the cheapest is fast changing as so many people are now turning to customer reviews to seek the top tutors before making a purchase. Whether it’s the pupil that is paying for their tuition with their own hard-earned money or a parent that has been tasked with finding a suitable training provider, they will both want the best and most compatible tutor to ensure a successful outcome.

Be careful not to fall into the trap of choosing private instruction on a near me basis as almost all tutors will offer a pick up and drop off service within the local area and choosing the nearest or nearby is not necessary. It would be wise to seek out those that are top rated, trusted and recommended by previous students.

The suggestion is to visit several websites and read what previous customers have to say about their driving instructor and in particular read the exact reasons why a pupil is prepared to recommend their teacher.

The Bridgwater Area and Decription

Bridgwater is a market town in Somerset with a current population of approximately 40,000 but that is expected to grow considerably over the next 10 years with the development of the Hinckley Point C station. It is expected that around 10,000 workers will be required to both build and run the completed project.

The current housing and road infrastructure is being prepared for the extra living accommodation and increase in local traffic. As a local business service provider, we welcome the extra business that the towns expansion will bring and there is no doubt that Bridgwater is fast becoming a very desirable place to both live and work.

We look forward to offering driver education to all current and new residents at this very exciting time in Bridgwaters development.
