Flag Festival
Starting from May 27 to June 24, 2018
The Flag Festival is an important part of Ilminster Midsummer Experience. Last year, Minster Church had over 100 flags with beautiful banners designed by John Reyntiens and Patrick Reynteins. This year, there will be six new flags. The medieval road layout in the town, which hugs to the Minster church, adds to the effect of flags dramatically and brings colors and vibrancy to the town.
Ilminster Art Centre Exhibition
Located in the historic Meeting House, Ilminster is known to have great Arts Centre. The Gallery has a stunning program of exhibitions that change frequently every year, ranging from local celebrations to international artists.
There is a great Craft Gallery in the Arts Centre where you can find hand-crafted gifts made by the local artisans. Don’t miss their music concerts too. It’s a great space to enjoy amazing acoustics, ranging from classic to folk and jazz.
History Trail
In the year 1995, this ancient Market Town celebrated its millennium. History Trail is an event which celebrates the heritage of the town, in a series of well-researches historic tablets that are displayed around in private houses and shops across the town. Ilminster Arts Centre Jazz Concert
The Big Bear Stompers wave the flags of American West Coast Traditional Jazz which is demonstrated by Turk Murphy and Lu Watters in the 1940s in the San Francisco bay. The founder of the band was trumpeter Clive Whitlock and Dave Moorwood in 1989. It is the first which is visited by the band in Ilminster. It is a very popular band having all the traditionalists.

The Food & Craft Market
The Food & Craft Market is one of the major highlights in Silver Street. It hosts over 30 stalls with range of local crafts and food, along with jams and preserves, honey, cider, cakes and buns, breads, pies, meats, and burgers, photography, jewelry, glass and enamels, embroidered pictures, clothing, scarves and even more. All of the independent shops of the town will remain open along with restaurants, cafes, and local pubs.
Suitcase Market
After a huge success in 2017, Suitcase Market will be back again on June 2018. Once again, the Market House will be opened to the suitcase merchants. It is a great opportunity for those who are going to start up a small business. You just need a small table and suitcase to offer your goods, ranging from craft items to handcrafted items and jams and pickles.
Pop-up Art Exhibition
The most-celebrated art exhibition in Whitelackington Art Group features the work of highly-skilled local artists from Ilminster. It will be back in 2018 which will have works that are curated for the budget-friendly segment of the art industry.
